Responsive design

Posted by Rize Design on October 17, 2014

In the ever changing world of web design the new catch phrase is ‘Responsive Design’ When a website is responsive, the layout and/or content adapts based on the size of the screen it’s being viewed on e.g smartphone, tablet, PC.

Responsive design is becoming more and more relevant as the way people access your website continues to change. With the increasing number of smartphones and tablets out there people are going online in so many ways. By having a site that adapts to various digital devices this enables visitors to your website to have the best experience possible no matter what medium they use.

Social Media news website, Mashable, has called 2013 the Year of Responsive Web Design

Mobile responsive design is all about automatically delivering your audience the content they want, within the context that they’re viewing it.It’s revolutionary for online publishers, because (for most) responsive design eliminates the need for multiple versions of your site, or expensive app development and maintenance. Responsive/mobile sites are also replacing the need for mobile apps largely due to the convenience and advanced usability of modern responsive designs.
